Torrance Good Shepherd Church (TGSC)
|
|
We had our farewell dinner with the EM congregation on 2/20/05.
TGSC
is a strong local church for its age (est. 10/2001), and will continue to partner with us as our home church. One of the most exciting developments in the English Ministry has been the establishment of a leadership team, which consists of committed believers willing to serve the EM congregation. We were blessed to spend October in TGSC before our final departure on 10/25.

Although Paul could not directly preach the gospel at
Crenshaw High School
he had a life-changing experience by being with the young people 5 days a week for three years. He shared his leadership experience as the advisor for the Junior class steering committee (and the Sophomore class the year before, was asked to continue with the senior class the following year) and also as the
MESA
advisor. He taught for the last day on 2/18/05, and was surprisingly saddened at the thought of not returning. The lives of the students he had gotten to know have made an impact in his outlook for people of different cultures; many church-going students were more eager to share their lives with a concerned teacher than a pastor. Paul taught math in the Teacher Training Magnet school.
